Derby-Themed Gala Unites Three Local Nonprofit Organizations

Three prominent New Jersey nonprofit organizations are joining forces to host an inaugural Derby-themed benefit gala aimed at supporting mental health, education, and therapeutic equine services throughout the region.

The “Beyond the Finish Line” Benefit Gala, scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd at Hope’s Haven Ranch in Allentown, will bring together supporters of Bright Harbor Healthcare, WAGE Women and Girls Education International, and Hope in Her Eyes Equine Facilitated Wellness.

The collaborative fundraising event represents a unique partnership between organizations with complementary missions focused on healing and empowerment. Taking place from 4 to 8 p.m. at the picturesque equestrian facility, the gala offers a country-elegant atmosphere where attendees are encouraged to don Derby-inspired attire, including decorative hats and bow ties, while skipping traditional heels in favor of cowboy boots or flats.

Each of the three charity organizations brings a distinct approach to healing and wellness. Bright Harbor Healthcare provides comprehensive behavioral health and recovery services throughout Ocean County, offering clinical treatment, community outreach and residential support programs.

WAGE Women and Girls Education International works to create educational opportunities and empowerment programs for women and girls locally and globally, addressing barriers to education and economic independence. Their initiatives include scholarship programs, skills training, and advocacy efforts.

Hope in Her Eyes Equine Facilitated Wellness, which operates at Hope’s Haven Ranch where the event will be held, utilizes equine-assisted services to address trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Their programs leverage the unique bond between humans and horses to facilitate healing and personal growth.

Event Highlights and Fundraising Activities

“This inaugural gala represents the power of collaboration in addressing complex community needs,” said a spokesperson for the organizing committee. “By bringing together organizations that approach healing from different angles—whether through direct mental health services, educational empowerment, or innovative therapeutic approaches—we can create a more comprehensive support network for vulnerable individuals.”

The evening will feature a cocktail reception, dinner and drinks, and presentations highlighting the impact of each organization’s work. Entertainment includes live music, a silent auction with exclusive items and experiences, and a 50/50 raffle drawing. A creative “Bonnet & Bow Tie Competition” will add to the Derby-themed festivities.

Organizers have structured the event to provide meaningful networking opportunities for attendees while raising critical funds for Hope In Her Eyes to continue to serve the diverse, vulnerable populations throughout New Jersey communities.
