Fatal Stabbing Leaves One Dead in Toms River
One person is dead and another injured following a stabbing in Toms River, New Jersey early Friday morning, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident, which occurred around 7:20 a.m. on Adams Avenue, has prompted a multi-agency investigation as authorities work to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Emergency Response to Morning Violence
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer confirmed that at least one person was stabbed at a residence on Adams Avenue and later died from their injuries. Law enforcement sources indicated that there were two victims in total, with the second person injured but surviving the attack, according to News 12 New Jersey.
According to a 911 call released by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, a Seaside Park Class II officer discovered one of the victims while picking up coffee at a nearby QuickChek. The officer reported a 31-year-old male with a stab wound to the upper left chest area who was breathing and conscious at the time.
Suspect Taken Into Custody
Video footage obtained by local media shows law enforcement apprehending a suspect on Whitesville Road near the Jackson border during the morning rush hour. An officer can be seen with his gun drawn as the suspect was on the ground, according to Patch.
Sources familiar with the investigation indicate that the incidents on Adams Avenue and Whitesville Road are related, and that police had prior knowledge of the suspect. However, authorities have not yet officially released the identity of the person in custody or any charges filed.
Investigation Continues
“This is an active and ongoing investigation, and there is no known danger to the public at this time. We will release more information as it becomes available,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated in a press release from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are collaborating on the investigation, including the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.

Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has established a dedicated line for tips related to the investigation.
