Multi-Sport Athlete’s Life Cut Short in Weekend Crash
The Brick Township community is mourning the loss of 24-year-old William “Will” Swiderski, a former high school athlete and U.S. Marine who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday afternoon. The crash, which occurred at the intersection of Route 37 and Colonial Drive in Manchester Township, has left family, friends, and former teammates grieving the loss of a young man remembered for his athletic talents and service to his country.
Emergency responders rushed Swiderski to Community Medical Center following the collision, but medical personnel were unable to save his life, according to RLSM.

From High School Fields to Military Service
Swiderski graduated from Brick Township High School in 2019, where he distinguished himself as a versatile athlete who participated in multiple sports. Following graduation, he chose to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, adding military service to his already impressive young resume.
The Brick Township hockey team shared their grief on social media, writing: “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of one of our former players, Will Swiderski. Will, class of 2019, tragically lost his life yesterday. Will was a multi-sport athlete at Brick Township, although he only played hockey for a short time, his smile and outgoing personality will always be remembered. Will also served in the United States Marine Corps after graduation. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends,” according to Daily Voice.
In addition to his time on the hockey team, Swiderski was also known for his contributions to the school’s lacrosse program, demonstrating his athletic versatility and commitment to team sports.
Catastrophic Collision Details Emerge
According to Ocean County officials, the fatal crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday when Swiderski was riding his motorcycle westbound on Route 37. As he approached the intersection with Colonial Drive, his bike collided with a car traveling southbound, resulting in a fiery crash.
The violent impact caused Swiderski’s motorcycle to burst into flames and threw him more than 140 feet from the point of collision, highlighting the catastrophic nature of the accident. The driver of the car involved in the collision was also transported to the hospital but is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with the incident, which remains under active investigation by local authorities.
