New Yorker Faces Multiple Charges Following Lancaster Traffic Incident
A 36-year-old New York man is facing multiple charges including aggravated assault and resisting arrest following a combative traffic stop that escalated into a roadside confrontation with police in Lancaster County.
Chad Jackson was arrested by Manheim Township Police on Monday after allegedly refusing to leave the highway and deliberately walking into traffic following his vehicle being towed.

Traffic Stop Escalates
“While Jackson was pulled over for a traffic stop, he was ‘loud, raucous, and argumentative,'” according to police statements reported by WHP CBS 21.
The situation deteriorated when the man’s vehicle needed to be towed from the scene, and the tow truck driver reportedly refused to provide Jackson transportation due to his behavior.
Safety Concerns Prompted Response
Officers were forced to block an entire lane of traffic with their patrol vehicles after Jackson allegedly refused to leave the roadside, creating a dangerous situation for both himself and passing motorists.
Police reported that Jackson continued walking into active traffic lanes in an apparent attempt to flag down passing vehicles, causing some to nearly come to a complete stop on the highway.
Multiple Charges Filed
Following his arrest, Jackson was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing highways, according to the Manheim Township Police Department.
Court records indicate Jackson was taken to Lancaster County Prison following processing, although bail information and his next court appearance have not been made public.

Regional Traffic Safety Efforts
The incident comes amid increased focus on traffic safety in Lancaster County, where law enforcement agencies have been conducting targeted traffic enforcement operations throughout the spring.
Local police departments have reported a rise in confrontational traffic stops in recent months, prompting additional training for officers on de-escalation techniques, according to regional law enforcement sources.
